i guess technically no... it's weird everything will be ok for awhile then occasionally happen again, for now just stopping the car for a few minutes and starting it again will do the trick, generally there's no code but if there is just clearing it and disconnecting the battery for a bit will make everything ok again (at least for a few months)
most of this stuff started happening after i tightened the throttle cable to get 'better response' even though cleaning the air mix path was what actually helped the most, so my throttle cable was just ever so slightly tugging on the sensor which started making the sensor act up
loosening the cable improved things but i'd still get the problem every so often, generally during fall or spring when outside temperatures would have greater fluctuations... the price of the sensor has gone down since i first started the thread years ago so i think i'll just get a new sensor eventually and not worry about soldering
