Question GS F Sport wheels on LS. Need spacer help

Hi

I recently bought some wheels that come with the GS350 F Sport to put on my 99' LS400. Don't think it's ever been done before, and when I did a test fit they looked real nice with my two tone black/gray body. While test fitting I noticed there is little clearance between the inner tire and the coilovers in the rear. The tires "rim guard" is about 1/2 inch away from the bottommost locking collar. When coming down driveways there is a slight rub.

I figured I wanted to push the wheels out a little more anyway so the best bet would be to get some spacers for the rear. From my research extended studs with a slip on hubcentric spacer would be the best route to go. Im planning on h&r spacers (anyone know other good brands?) with arp studs as they seem stronger than the ones h&r gives.

My question is what is the length of the factory studs? I need this so I can figure how much longer of a stud i'd need for the spacers.

Id appreciate any input!

i am unsure on the length of the OE stud but most brand name spacers come with the matching studs, like H&R and eibach, depending on sizing. sounds like you only need a small one to clear, say 3mm which really do not require extended studs.

i trust H&R studs, and of course ARP is much nicer. my general rule of thumb is if the lug has 5 full turns before bottoming out, then you are fine.

you sure the rubbing is from the coilover? when the rear wheels are sagging (car jacked up), they are closer to the coilover. when they are at rest (car on the ground) the wheels usually are farther away from the strut.

The OEM studs are 40mm long with a 12mm x 1.5mm thread pitch. Ichiba offers 45mm and 55mm length sets in packs of 10 studs for $34.99 shipped on eBay. If you need bigger, then ARP offers a 66mm set which is available for $66 for 10 studs.

On my personal car, I'm running a set of the 55mm Ichiba studs up front with a 10mm spacer and I've been running this setup since late September with no issues.

Some additional discussion to supplement other sized wheel studs and spacers:

Thank you all for the help. I went ahead and ordered the ARP extended studs for the is300 (model#100-7715 work on our cars as well as most toyo/lex). This thread really helped:

The ARP are about 5mm longer than the h&r that came with my 20mm spacer. Next problem I ran into was getting a open ended lugnut, to accommodate the extra length. Our cars use magseat/washer-type so this was very difficult and only found one set for sale on amazon. But after looking at my oem lugnut I realized that they were open-ended from factory. haha thank you 90's Lexus!. Ordered a 10mm for the front thats coming in this week, very excited to finally fit everything together!

hahaha yep the OEM magseat lugs are open ended to fit under the OEM wheel cap. glad you got it sorted and pls get some pictures up. hope you don't run into issues installing the ARP hardware. i know i did putting them on my honda, since they were so long i pretty much disassembled the entire knuckle just to get them through the hub. that's a honda though, unsure if toyota will differ (hope so).
