Pcv hose
My Pcv hose is cracked and was wondering if I could use a heater hose. If so, what size would I need? Thanks in advance for the help. Oh and by the way I have 95.

i went to a parts store and found a molded hose in a similar shape to the PCV hose that I used, so it wouldn't collapse.
Lexus wanted 40 bucks or something rediculous, i picked this one up for 8 at Autozone. Looks identical to the OE one.

Was this hose on the shelf or did you ask for it? Also, have the same questions as python.

I used a genuine one after noticing the unusual intermittent noise from the cracked PCV hose. Many PCV hoses are covered with the heat insulator to prevent the icing. Without it, there would be a problem like this below. See the 3rd photo from the top.

People often don't believe the icing problem, but it's common here in winter.

Make sure you have all that covered and you'll be fine. I think the main reason the custom manufactured and stocked OE hoses cost so much is because of the cost of stocking many individual items vs. by-the-foot stuff on reels.

Yes, this is the sort of info you need to know when replacing hoses with non-OE ones. Of course the inner diameter should match, first. Hoses will have specs for pressure, temperature, and chemical resistance (oil vs. fuel vs. vapor etc.) among other things. Also insulation, abrasion resistance, and sometimes the shape (bend) can be important so it does not close itself off.
