Hey All
1999 LS400 with 120000 miles, when the car is in car and I rev the engine to 1800 RPM, it starts shaking and then dies and then again at 2800 RPM, never noticed it while driving but I'm thinking is the transmission mount. Any thoughts? I was going to swap out all the mounts anyways since I bought the car with 120k miles and these things wear eventually.
Also, anything special about these mounts that I need to be aware of? Hints or Tips would be nice. I've done plenty of motor mount replacements before and everyone is different.
Thanks

I have a 2000 with 130,000 miles that had the same issue. My trans mount was completely separated. A new OEM mount that I ordered from Belle Lexus fixed the issue completely. And the car drives beautifully, with the exception of every control bushing needing replacing.

a torn/broken trans mount is most common source of vibrations, usually during driving, not while standing still and revving. i suspect the engine mounts to be toast, and the culprits causing the vibes during a standstill.
i would replace the trans mount first as it's very easy to do (4-bolts, hold the trans with a jack, and replace) before tackling the motor mounts which require a partial removal of the lower subframe.

Does anyone have torque specs for those tranny mount bolts? I've searched and searched and searched, all the tutes here and elsewhere just say "just crank'em down"
