if you look long and hard enough a nice clean fully loaded example will show itself. just make sure you have lots of time, lots of gas money for driving and be prepared to be frustrated and disappointed half way thru the hunt. it took me 6 months and searching across 5 counties till I found the right one. I almost gave up and on the very last day, while driving to the kia dealership basically had thrown in the towel and was going to get a newer optima, I happened to turn my head to the left and there she was....

Yes I don't like to do a long distance deal. Even the ones that you think are going to be in super good condition, end up not being good at all. And you ask "does it have this or that option" and they say yeah it has them all, then you drive for miles and it nope all lies.

that was spring of 2013 and I had my heart set on a 1990 or 91 model cause all I ever had was ucf10s up to that point, but even after 6 months I wasn't finding many of them and the few I did find were completely clapped out and ready for the junkyard so I gave up on that and thought, "hey! why don't I give the early ucf20 a chance!!".. even those were difficult to find not beat to death. I went on many 50 mile trips to sellers promising a "super clean" car only to find some beat up hooptie. it was funny, they either looked like hell but still ran okay, or looked like they were never driven and cosmetically perfect but whoever had them failed to maintain them for half a decade so they ran bad. I will say this! the hunt was quite an adventure! all the interesting people I met, all the sketchy areas I went to. hell, I remember going to test drive a green 96, at 2am, in the middle of the hood! anyway when I finally found the right one I was super glad cause I was about to give up. it makes me appretiate the one I ended up with so much more, and because of that im keeping it forever.

The cars are out there. It all depends on if you need one or just casually looking. I try to keep some cash laying around to be able to pick up a good deal here and there. But if I need one then I'm ready to pull the trigger. I just bought a car in Las Vegas and am having it shipped. I've done it in the past with no issues. You have to get good detailed pictures and a video. If the seller cannot provide that for you then you either go there or pass. You can tell a lot by the ad the seller puts out. All these ads with no price, vague pictures, pictures taken at night or no pictures at all are all red flags. I know I've missed out on some good cars because I don't give the time of day to ad that has no price or no detailed pictures. I hope you find what you are looking for. You have a lot going against you for it to be the right color and in the small geographic area you are searching in. But, they sold a bunch of them and with patience it will come up.

Wow! Never even seen one without a sunroof before...
#42
That is rare. Usually if you don't have a sunroof you got the cloth. I would say that is a great deal but I'd have to have it put on a lift and checked for rust due to where it is.

No cloth on those generation LS, only the first gen. Leather was standard on at least the 2.5 gen

Gotcha. Those must have gone to the rental fleets or were ad cars. I just can't get behind a LS with no sunroof though. It would be like a 4cyl front wheel drive Challenger.
