How are OEM pads compared to other brands? I have had OEMs for a while, never really tried anything else. 99LS

OEMs are fine. Anything by stoptech/centric will work well as well for an OEM replacement.

I run EBC Red Stuff, but they're a dusty, aggressive pad. Amazing bite and fade resistance though

I've ran Wagner Thermo Quiets pads with Bosch rotors on all my cars. Costs a little more, but I like the ceramic pads because I hate all the dust. Haven't put them on my lexus yet as it had new pads on when I bought it, but my rotors are shot so it won't be too long till I replace them.

I had Wagner Thermoquiet for almost two years. Great braking power, probably a tad better than Akebono ceramics. However, they did squeal every morning, just as I was leaving my driveway... which drove me nuts because it was so loud it could wake up the dead.
Later a faint sqeal started with some vibration under hard braking (Brembo rotors - I used to swear by them, but they are not as good as they used to be). Finally, due to noise, I decided to switch to Akebono ceramic pads with Centric rotors. That was a few months ago, and it is a perfect combo. As I removed old pads, I was surprised to find that they had a lot of life left - at least 50%, if not more.
This is for 2nd gen brakes (which I installed on 1st gen LS).
