Great tutorial and pics gottahaveit, thanks for those.
May i please ask if there is a trick to removing the sill plates and rear quarter trim?

3. remove rear door sill and inner quarter trim, disconnect interior light switch
I took the parcel shelf out of my 90 Celsior to get at the shock actuators, but to replace it, id rather remove the side trim first, but dont want to just yank it in case i break some clips etc.
Do they pop straight off, or slide off? Also the sill plates.

I also noticed that the pins on top of the shocks spin quite freely, does it matter if they have been rotated a few times before lining them up with the actuator?
In one position they are lined up straight, and the other position like this.. \ / on a 45 degree angle to each other...is this correct.

Thanks in advance.

Well it has been some time but let me recall... I sold my 94LS400 w/ 112k about a yrs ago.

Sill plates I think just pop off. Probably a screw or two for side trim.

The pins on top of strut must be aligned with the slots on the actuator before applying the actuator as you know. I suppose if they rotate freely (rotate, right? not screw in or out? ) it shouldn't matter if they've moved, so long as they are lined up to the actuator when you bolt it up. I would think that if it was critical the Lexus packaging would have some means to hold them in a certain position during transit but I don't recall that. Post some pics of your install, looks like a few people have found this thread interesting.
