Please help crank won't start security light on
So I just bought my 99 ls400 off of my friend . He ran over the harness living that low life and soldered the wires back together but now the security light is stuck on EVEN with the key in the ignition and in the on position.
I just checked every wire that was soldered and around it everything looks good...
It cranks forever but will not even hesitate or budge.
I feel like it's the immobilizer. I've checked all fuses
The remote still works locks and unlocks and arms alarm but the security light on the dash never goes away

I'm not an expert on UCF20/21 models, but I have worked with immobilizers on different cars.
It sounds like this could be the case. If I am correct, the buttons for lock and unlock are separate from the immobilizer chip, which can essentially be treated as a resistor.
You may need to get another key and program it for your car. I have no idea if the immobilizer chips are interchangeable between keys, or if you can change the cut portion of the key from your current key to a new key. If so, this would save you from getting a new key cut, by instead re-using the parts from your current key. There are videos on how to program keys and swap the components from them on Youtube.
Hopefully a UCF20/21 owner can step in and provide more assistance. Once again, I only really know UCF10/11 LS models the best.
