93 LS400 No Start with Code 14
So as the title states, about three months ago I was on an errand and while making a left turn, the car cut off, of course I did the obligatory cranking the engine over trying to restart it, coasted into a parking lot and towed it home. Between in and out of town travel have dug deep into the issue to try and solve it. I've ruled out the associated cam sensor, coil, ignitor, and wiring.
My ECU was apparently rebuilt in 2014, idk by who it just has tamper stickers with the rebuild date on it and that's it.
My question is this I read where someone ran into the same situation and he found a repair company to test the ECU's ignitor circuit while under load and said company found the issue and repaired it. Only problem is ATE is strongly not recommended, so I'm not sure who really to talk to. I found a link to Tanin electronics detailing an SC400 ecu rebuild which was a bit of sticker shock at $999.
If anyone has a suggestion of who to go to for ECU diagnostic and repair I'd greatly appreciate it.
Best Regards

Good Morning! We are unsure of where you got the $999 price tag as we have never offered the ECU rebuilds at that price. We do however offer rebuilds on ECUs depending on the problem you are having. Our rebuilds start at $99 and can go up to $149.99. Worst case scenario is that your ECU is too damaged to be repaired and we find you a replacement, the cost of replacement ECUs can vary. Please contact us if you have any other questions.
