Ls400 [Salvaged-Broken-Running Cars FS-Craigslist and others- The Mother thread]
#76
My son in law has a 1991 ls400, and I've pulled countless back speakers out of the pick/pull places and they never work regardless of the mileage. I did however manage to get one for my 1996 ls 400 that worked(think the donor was at 96k miles and must have been a garage queen).

I've been dawdling on that. I need to get one for the front too. I've got a 2001 BMW Z3 and a 2003 Santa Fe that fills my garage so no room for the LS. I do however park it under my largest shade tree most of the day.

Okay, that ones bad lol

Oh, my.. That car definitely needs some work done. I wonder how much stress that strap is putting on the panels to hold the front together.

And he won't even show the rear end damage, this guy lives in a dream world, the car must have solid gold emblems.

And this one is super clean it says, I guess the owner can't see very well.

Overpriced knuckleheads
See a lot of good deals on mid mileage LS's in pretty decent shape on Craigslist but always seem to come across ads where the car may be in reasonable shape the owners think the have a rolling gold mine.
For example:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/5793918699.html Nice looking car, way too much. Originally asking $7,000. Back pedaling a little now since no one is biting
https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/5760594644.html VIP 97. Hmmm. Bumper damage, door dings. $8500.
https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/5768618693.html Missing body parts and passenger fender damage. $6300 or $3800 minus amp, sub and rims....
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lg...761931413.html Pricey '97. Will not negotiate.
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sf...778599404.html The great mother of all....

I love the salvaged ones high price and crashed (unless salvaged means diff in the states) always a good combo. Last one is super clean but converting it to cad just makes me laugh (21070.40 cad)

I love this:
In other words "I know its listed for more than its worth, but I paid way too much for it and still owe more than its worth, and now I need you to make the same mistake so I can scamper away unscathed" lol
That 2000 is expensive but its gorgeous...
I know this car is more than Kelly Blue Book but i will not negotiate on price. I still owe on it.

Yeah the first one low options, but ok, and the last 2 okay. The rest are over priced junkers, and the good ones too much for what it is. I think theres a 30,000 mile 98 or 99 in this state priced at 11K.

Wurfers... that's what I call these....
"yo its a lessess foe hunnit" "I know it wurf mo den dat bruh!"
its a lexus so its rolling gold bars. because its a lexus. yeah. a lexus.....
sort of like the one post wonder that shows up here just to find out what his car is "wurf" cause he is too stupid or lazy to research himself. they have no interest in the car itself, doesn't care about the Ls400 or its culture/history, only what he can get for it. he gets his value and never hear from them again. those kinds of posts are a total waste of time, and it angers me and sort of saddens me as well.
my main hobby is collecting and restoring vintage stereo equipment. I have large online groups and I get the same crap over there. everything is gold bricks nomatter what it is. and wurfers show up just to see what they can get for stuff with absolutely no interest in the nostalgia, restoration, or heritage of the stuff. I usually troll them to holy hell till they leave.
