The LS400 is not an aircraft. It's a car, and it is very common to find components of a car fail after 27 years.

14 years of ownership on a 20 year old cold which runs really good. The only things that broke on their own are starter, leaking power steering, Y-pipe and door handle. I'll take those odds everyday whether it's a design flaw or not.

Since a door handle is such a simple part there is no excuse for them to break, or do the jam up deal and lock you out or in the car. Especially on what is considered an over engineered car. Even hard constant used parts fair so much better, even the wheel bearings rear end etc etc. Gosh even an old Mopar the door handles still work okay with many more years down the road, even rusty old chevy trucks do better with door handles, and latches.

Then I guess you better sell that POS and buy something better engineered.
