Default Transmission gear shifter rod bushings

The rubber grommets and bushings for the floor shifter control rod shaft on 1999 LS400 were tired.

There was considerable slop in shifting and vibration in the shift lever because rubber isolation grommets were worn and rock hard allowing shift rod to flop and clunk from side to side

1998-2000 LS400 SHIFTER ASSEMBLY EXPLODED PARTS DIAGRAM

Area depicting transmission shifter control shaft components replaced.

Image depicting the array of replacement parts ordered from Lexus....

The shift rod link is now stable, does not clunk or make noise.

The Shift lever does not vibrate and feels more solid.

The inner diameter of the replacement bushings for the connector rod swivel ends were not machined to tight tolerances to the pins but were not too far off so decided to use OEM parts instead of having them fabricated.

Yodaone they needed you there to finalize the design of the various linkages at the Lexus plant, maybe then their pursuit of perfect would have been much closer.
You have really hit on some good and necessary fixes that some of the Gens need.
