close to 30 years old now
easy to forget that in only a few short years the 1990 models will hit 30. production started august of 89 so in just under 2 years we can put classic tags on them.
question though.. where the hell are they all?
I still see lots of 92s and occasional 91s, but the 90s seem to have disappeared off the earth. maybe just not too many of them left? even ten years ago seems like a lot of them were all used up. ive been scanning craigslist pretty much everyday for the last year looking for a not too beat to death 90, and when one does come out of the woodwork its in absolutely awful condition, its been hacked to death with mods, or its stupid expensive. I know ill find one eventually, but has anyone else had this problem trying to track one down?

Yeah I have no desire to even look at something with blacked windows and other mods. Look at all the money he could have saved and just left it stock, in top shape stock it would sell for more.

i agree. You just never know what quality of parts he put on. Most likely they are cheap junk.

We can put "Historic" tags on cars here when they're 20 years old. Theres a 95-96 LS I see around here from time to time with Historic tags.

Here in Japan, cars older than 13 years are quite rare because of the increased 2 different taxes. Old cars are crushed or exported. Many Gen3 Celsiors similar to LS430 are now in that situation. This simply means that you can buy those inexpensively. The other day, a local shop owner sold a Gen 2.5 Celsior (2000 model) receiving only $300 from a foreign exporter.

Admittedly that car looks to be in great shape as well!
Sadly most people just get a car, drive it until it dies and toss it out of in the trash and get another car and do the same thing. Most people don't care about their cars, they just treat them as a throw away device.

its painful to see but the LS400 is now simply an old throwaway car but not to us. to the masses at this point they are just cheap transportation they don't maintain and just drive them till they blow up.

Here is a high mileage gem that they're only asking $1300 for...1998, 337k miles,
clean title, cold ac, runs like new, no mechanical issues, the car is at a 100%.
$1300 price is negotiable
Looks pretty clean for that many miles. Easy to see the the drivers seat has been recovered.
