I'll be frank by saying, you're doing it wrong. Don't take what you read on the internet and put it into action with no follow up yourself. If you read it takes 2 quarts, start with that or maybe a little less since it's easier to add than remove. Start the car, wipe the dip stick, and read it on the cold range. The fluid will get on BOTH sides of the tip to show its level. If you remove the stick and one side is dry and the other has some fluid on it then it is not up to the stick.

With the amount of experience and knowledge out there on these cars the 2 quarts thing is a good start. Drain, add 2 quarts, and CHECK IT AFTERWARDS. There is no excuse for driving around with low fluid after you service it. That will bite you one day. Keep in mind the car must be relatively level for n accurate dip stick level.

Also, how many magnets were in your pan total? The pan has spots for 4 magnets but the factory only uses 3.
