Annoying Clunk Sound- Strut Bar (The Mother thread)
#214
No, I just did the front two. Those pics were of both sides. Yes, dealer did it for $142.00 I think they screwed up on the pricing. But I confirmed the price when I brought the car in and they honored what they agreed to. I don't think you can buy the rear OEM bushing separate. I don't see it. The diagram below is for the rear on a 99 model.

Strut rod bushing....I think it's time
Changed the oil on Friday and looked at the SRB and I would say it's time for a replacement!
I have a lot of clunking over sharp objects in the road (pot holes, driveways, etc) as well as a subtle clunk sound over low speed rises in the road. Kinda hard to explai that one but let's just say very annoying!
I'd really like to DIY this to save the $160 in labor I was quoted today. I am ordering the part tomorrow and will either DIY this weekend or take it to my shop next week. I'm trying to think of/find a place that's open on Saturday that could press these for me.

Mine need to be replaced too...in retrospect, it might have been these that have been making the godawful squeaking racket when the temperature dips, NOT my Megans like I've been assuming.
Where did you order from/how much?

Did you DIY or take it somewhere?
I was going to get them from.AutohausAZ.com b/c they're $62 per side plus free shipping. I wanted to check out sewell but after creating an account it would not let me log in :/

you can always call sewel, or l-tunedparts.com aka Carson Toyota (talk to Luis), or even Lexus of Westminster (tak to Kerry) and they'd all give you a hell of a better price on the OEM bushings.

lexus of westminster will match sewell prices on the spot if you tell them you are from club lexus. most of the time they beat sewell, which is why i go there all the time. go see kerry, a very good dude!
edit: thought you were local, but i suppose you can still get the same rates shipped.

Just called Carson and Westmin and the quotes were $40 and $69, respectively. Didn't even realize yall on the left cost were still open! Very cool.
I asked Westmin about shipping and he said to call back tomorrow and it should work. I want to call my local Toyota dealer to see if they A. even have these and B. will match the price. Hopefully both! My local Lex dealers scoffed when I tried to get a match on the trans mount.
If I do call Westmin back I will see if they match the price from Carson or Sewell.
Thanks again for all the help guys! Epic savings here

To throw this out there as far as suspension issues go, take a look at what the LS 460 does to the wallet.
