Dipped, to protect the new paint job mostly
#17
If the base coat is water base, the clear will come off with the plasti dip. Unless you did a good coat of wax before the dip. But then wax won't let the new paint breath and cure either. So how long did it cure?

!
Paint cured for a month.
I will keep the dip on until it wears away enough to be ugly...Then it's peeling time!
The paint job is guaranteed for as long as I own the car so if there are issues with clear I will take it back there (they don't know about the dip )
Cheers!

Good question. The paint job was an insurance claim after the car was vandalized. The dip is to protect it. Why? Someone already rubbed against the car within a few weeks of the paintjob...I had to pay another $500 to fix that (out of pocket)...this way at least the paint job is protected under the dip (to a degree admittedly).
