I got a great deal on a lexus
I recently bought a 91 LS400 with 214,000 miles.
Interior 7/10 Exterior 9/10 for $600.00 + $200.00 in parts
power steering pump whining and pressure hose leaking bad for a year occasionally driven and filled up with PS fluid which made it look worse than it really was.
I recently fixed the power steering pump and pressure hose I cleaned up as much as I could and now it runs great.
I just need help trying to figure out why the key won't open the driver door the drivers window has a hard time going up I have to pull on the switch hard for it to go up, but mainly the instrument cluster, engine temp gauge reads higher than what it actually is, rpm and mph needles don't move at all. IF YOU HAVE HAD ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOU FIXED IT.

Does the key turn the lock? If so it could be a linkage problem, or the latch itself. You need to remove the door panel to check it out.

It's your lock actuators, open it up and replace the letter motor cost about $2 on eBay. Lexus dealer charges $600 to do the job, all Lexus and Toyota all eventually have these actuator issues

How I'd tackle it...
1. Does the VIN number on the door match the car? Has it been replaced and they did not change the lock over?
2. Is the lock mechanism frozen or it's not the right key for the lock, i.e. has the lock been replaced?
3. Removing the interior door panel to investigate why the mechanism is not working as it should.
I don't think you'll be able to figure this out without tearing into it if you've proved the door does belong to that car.

It is going to have to come out. But first you'd disconnect the linkage from it and see if that's the problem.
It does no good to keep asking and or talking about it. Its now time to either dig in and take off door panel etc. or take it someplace to have it done. Car toys can take it all out and then you take the lock to a lock smith.
