Don't do it.
Your car will not gain any power from doing this. It will run a little cooler, but only in the block and not in the intake, where it counts. You only gain power by cooling your intake air. You may gain .01 RWHP at best.
On the other hand, your car will take forever to worm up and will not be able to reach its optimun operating temperature, which isn't good IMHO.

What i want to know is what is the temp sender for the cluster.. .is it the ECT that drives the cluster???

there should be a way to short it and make the temp go all the way up to H.

THanks

I know this was your first post, but the thread that you commented on was almost 6 years old.

6 year old or a day old still makes information correct.
Good job searching .
It can be a strange thing to look at teh gauge because it does lie.

On my 98 the middle line is from 80-105 degrees Celsius , the second it goes over that temp it moves a notch for every degree and at 120 is is at the overheat mark.
It is not a linear gauge and the cluster itself can also not be telling the right temp . If it stays in one spot it is in a range as that is its middle where it can have large temp fluctuations but no movement until it goes out of the determined range.
Make sense ?

I have a Scangauge and I have it mounted in front of my odometer. I don't even bother looking at the needle. I look at the specific deg. F readout and enjoy seeing how it correlates with the engine management in fuel flow. These cars flow so much fuel when the motor is cold, I wish I could fool the engine into thinking it was hot immediately after startup. That would probably save me at least a few bucks every fillup.
