1992 Ls400 drivers side rearview mirror electrical wire ?
My lexus was in a wreck so I'm swapping out drivers doors which means "keeping wiring harness thru. the door and disconnecting all electrical items inside door, then swap door & then re-connect electrical connections....."
-All have been removed except the "thick, stiff wire going to the outsider rear-view mirror on drivers side....
Couple questions:
-I cannot see or gain access to the "three 10 mm. nuts/bolts holding rear-view mirror onto body - can anyone tell me more here?
-I was hoping to disconnect the electrical connection for outside drivers mirror w/out removing outside mirror itself - is that the way to go or must the mirror (& its 3 mounts) be loosen so I can pull wire outside car to gain access to its electrical connection?
SOS - Help me if you can!

Not too sure this will help you very much, but I think if you do a search on replacing the mirror glass, you will find more information on actually removing the housing. If I recall, the glass is relatively easily removable, and allows access to the inside of the housing. Also, there may be a screw on the underside of the housing under a removable covering plate. Make sure you check this out before horsing around with this plate, since I am not very sure about this.
