Orange light (picture of car with taillights in back)
There's a light in our speedo cluster (near check engine) that is a pic of a car with some emphasis on the back end of the car. My first guess is that it's a light to let you know you have a short somewhere in rear light system (e.g. burned out light).
Anyways, mine turned on last weekend right after I packed my trunk. I didn't over stuff it, but I had a lot of crap in it.
I assumed it was just coincidence, but this morning when I started the car without anything in the trunk the light was off.
So I guess my question is two fold.
1) Is that orange light just an indicator that I light bulb is burned out
2) Has anyone seen this turn on due to stuffing of the trunk?

When I packed my car to come home from college, the light actually came on once, then went off later... So the stuffing of the trunk might actually have something to do with it, cause my car was packed!. It could have just hit the brakelight or something, because brakelights are included in that "Burnt out light" display. If you pack it tight and it presses against the upper part of the trunk, I guess it could make the connection loose enough to trigger the light. Anyway, yeah, packing the trunk can cause light to come on

If a bulb is not burned out, then usually the wire connecting to the bulb housing or the housing itself is bad.
The wires or the connection wear out and you can re-solder or replace the bulb housing. If it's just loose you can wiggle it and see the rear light(s) get dim.
