Transmission to radiator hoses.

Thank you. I always grab an empty portion of the hose with pliers, but now that I think about it, I guess if I don't squeeze too tight, I won't damage the pipe inside. I'll try that, of that doesn't work, I'll try carefully cutting the hose to weaken it for a twist off.
*EDIT* (Editing to complete the thread without bumping)
I got one hose off by doing as Banshee said. Grabbing the hose with vice-grips by the part on the pipe and twisting. That one popped right off. The other one....wow. I had to apply a lot of force with the aforementioned method and also carefully grab under the end of the hose with curved end hose pliers and peel it back hard. Bit by bit, shredding and ripping the end of the hose in the process, I safely removed it. Very tough hose to remove.

The ID of of the rubber AT hoses going to the radiator are 10mm, but as it was mentioned auto parts stores don't usually carry metric. However I couldn't find this size and substituted 7/16, the 3/8 hose is considered restrictive. For my same issue as yours.
Please remember to verify it's AT fluid hose not fuel hose.
