Elless400- Perhaps my memory has failed me after all? I've always remember it takes a quart of either tranny fluid or motor oil to cover from the bottom to the top of the cross-hatched section on the tranny & the engine crankcase's dipsticks, respectively. I've just did an oil changed today & it took exactly 1 quart. I'll make a note on the tranny fluid next time when I do a drain or flush my tranny.

Yup. This time you were failed by your memory. Or maybe you, or I, have a very "special" LS400...😀
