Tune up?
Hello all. So I recently ran into a problem a few weeks ago. Car started to bog down then my check engine light blinks. So I took it to AutoZone to have the codes read and it'll show in the picture. Haven't taken care of the problem bc I just got back from vacation. It says I need ignition coil and spark plugs. I wanted to know if that's all I need besides the gas canister which I probably won't address for awhile. I just need assurance, any advice would be helpful and yes I googled but just want the reassurance before I scheduled a shop visit. She's treated me very well and I've only had her since last April. Another question is what would you guys/girls do?

Sounds like you have a 98-00 LS400 and the VVT is not working properly. Check the OCV (Oil Control Valve) for the Bank 1 (driver side). Your misfiring problems must be caused by the failed OCV since all of them are happening at the bank 1.

Well reading your cels, I had the same ones for my 1996 LS400.
minus the VVT ones, but the oil feed lines going into the solenoids and
make sure there is no accumulated blockage.
The coils are easy to replace. The spark plug are abit more labor intensive (taking off
the cover off the valve covers and the some other intake related parts.
maybe 2 to 4 hours depending your wrenching abilities.
I bought the parts and installed them.

Which parts would I need? Good brands? I have a power steering issue too which is probably a leak so I'm fixing all of this at once. I appreciate he replies.

I have had luck with RockAuto.com for most of my parts.
But I also use my local Autozone.
basically comes down to how bad to I need the part.
I recently replaced my power steering hose (long one) got it from RockAuto.com
be carefully with the factory connectors, old and brittle and will break / crack..

Thanks and what about for the other issues? Would that just be spark plugs and ignition coil?

I was actually asking which parts would I need for a tune up like a part number not where to get them. With that said I figured out what I needed and we will see what happens. Once everything is done I'll let you guys know.
