Default 97 Ls400 cd/tape player not working Please Help

I have a 97 Ls400 with a nakamichi radio. My tape player will not play and spits tape out after 3 seconds my 6 disc cd changer will not read cd's anymore Im
trying to figure out what the problem could be

tape player is ancient so there cold be many issues, however I find that if there is no data on the tape (i.e. like an adapter for a mini jack) the head unit either spit it out or revert back to radio or CD.
as for the CD player, make sure you have the CD orientation correct. I found out the hard way that the CDs need to be facing upward (label side down against the magazine tray)!

If you're using one of those Aux players to play Pandora or something, there's a way to fix the cassette where it won't spit out.

Do a search on here for cassette player fix, I found a guy that removed a rubber over run stopper from inside the cassette and did a DIY. Mine works perfectly now. It used to spit out every 10 seconds like yours

This is good advice! I had the discs in what I thought was correct (label side up) and this instantly solved the problem. However many discs you have loaded in the 6 disc magazine, they must all be in correctly (label side down) or you get the error message on the display, "Error Code 21".
