what years are compatible to interchange transmissions? I have a 1993 LS 400

I'm not real sure but 90 to 94 would work. And maybe even the newer years would with a change of the valve body.

That would be interesting, I wonder if anyone's done that. I know I'd appreciate an extra gear in my UCF11.

I will also look into this. I was looking at a manual conversion for after xmas but would much prefer a 5spd auto. This is after all a cruiser not a racer.

Newer meaning 95 to 97. You will only have the 5 speeds if you use an aftermarket transmission controller, and will likely need one for the engine as well since the ecu may not work good with just the engine and no transmission inputs.

Luckily here in Aus there are quite a few places to source expert work. There is a guy near me that specialises in turbo and manual conversions.
It woud be amazing to put the ls460 trans in but thats a bit too much o ask for.

I can't see anyone trying to fool with the proprietary Lexus ECU when its inexpensive and much more programmable to use something like Mega squirt especially when doing a manual transmission swap.

The Lexus Ecu is something that I cant wait to replace to be honest.
