I don't know how well it would work for the dash but some of the wood trim in mine fell off and I reattached it with some RTV silicone. I just clamped it down for an hour or so and left it alone. All you have to do is make sure to clean up any excess that gets squeezed out when pressure is applied.

Ye Ill give it a go this weekend. I rescued this vehicle from a neglectful relationship. She is rarely driven at the moment and has a nice cosy place in the garage!

I've never seen that happen on an LS. Must be pretty hot where you are.
I don't know if this will work but it's a suggestion. If you pull the vents out, you might be able to screw a bracket on it, push it down and screw the bracket to something on the bottom. (If it's not in the way of the vents when they go back in) Also use glue on it of course.
If you do it that way, don't use too big of a screw on top. Ya don't want it to pop through the top.

Please take some photos and let us know how you did it; I'm sure it will be very helpful for owners. This is definitely a problem I've seen on many LS 400s, especially around New York, California, Florida, and Texas.

I purchased the car from Mackay which is an inland town in QLD Australia. Hot is an understatement. Thankfully my climate is quite a bit cooler.

SEE? Barely better. Here's how:
a) remove air register
b) obtain two old-school slow-growth redwood or hickory paint sticks
c) cut to length (i.e. slightly narrower than air register openings
d) clean exposed lifted area and underside of dash vinyl at lifted point with a clean dry cloth, we just want to get rid of friable material
e) one drop of gorilla glue every 1/16" of an inch all the way across the lower of the two surfaces
f) use your terrycloth rag coated paint sticks against the dash with your vise style visegrips and do only a modest clamp for an hour
g) enjoy the laser straight tidy look until the first really hot day when it just has to #&!^%@! curl up again.
Colin.
