HI GUYS. Today I found a rather severe leak at the front seal of the trans housing. Very sad about this. I am committed to the vehicle at this point so I will be dropping the trans when I can get a stand. It doesnt look like there is a gasket. SHould there be? Or should I just apply some liquid gasket compound?

The leak is likely from the seal or that o ring. Either way the transmission needs to be removed to fix it.

Id say Id be looking at a pro repair of over 1200. If I cant do it myself Ill just keep the car off the road for a few months and do a manual swap. Hoping I can do it myself.
In the meantime ill drop the pan and take a look and service the trans as usual. I may ad a stop leak to get me to work until its sorted if its not too severe

While waiting for the replacement parts I will be draining the pan and using a stop leak just to see if that junk actually works. Im not too optimistic. I will also be trying to figure out a way to do this safely on my own. Time to put my ghetto diy abilities to the test.
