You have my sympathy. Earlier in the year I picked up mint 1998 - which I planned to keep forever. And then...
Left it in the station parking lot while I was at work. Returned to find the front corner stoved in by a woman who'd backed into it, clearly not paying attention. (But at least she had the courtesy to leave a note with insurance details.)
10 weeks later I've still not had the car repaired, although it's in the shop right now. Predictably, her insurance company were not willing to pay out enough to get the job done properly - so I've had to resort to a second-hand bumper and a repair to the headlight mounting. The repairer did insist on a new OEM wing, which was not cheap.
At least I've managed to avoid a total loss, but as said I doubt the new paint will look so good in a few years' time.
