definitely sounds more of an exhaust leak to me. Does your LS have an EGR pipe in it? that was the cause of my sputtering similar to yours.

It also could be a dead spark plug causing it to misfire, which may also sound similar. Do you get an unbalanced vibration when you rev the engine?

This is what I am thinking as well that it could be a misfire (Not sure if the video is playing tricks on me but it looks like the engine is moving pretty bad or video stabilization is correcting it).

As for the check engine code, I would suggest pulling the codes for it. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html

There is vibration.

Update, I took it to the dealer to run diagnostics and they said the EGR pipe is cracked. At first they said it was only the gaskets that needed to be replaced, then they came back today and said the pipe is cracked as well. Their cost to fix is $1,092

Since its at the rear of the engine and very close to the firewall (the panel just behind the engine) the exhaust heat could start a fire if the leak is big enough.
A quick fix would to be wrap muffler tape around it, but its not easy to get to and why the big cost to replace it. If a person is going to the trouble to get it out, either replace it or weld it.

It would be fine to drive around and shouldn't cause any driveability issues. Its not different than any exhaust leak, i had a cracked EGR for 2 months, though mine wasn't as bad and didn't vibrate so I lived with it until I had some downtime during the holidays to work on it.

I ended up having a guy weld the pipe, and build up structure between the accordion sections for strength so it wouldn't crack again.
