Default My LS is still not running quite right.

I have been slowly getting my 95 LS 400 back into running order. I first had to discover that I had installed the wrong ECM and it would not start. I found out the right part number and it worked. I have replaced several parts. My car has about 235,000 miles. I replaced rotors, plugs, wires, air filter, and cleaned MASS air unit. The car starts and idles just fine. At times it seems to bog down when I first start out. Sometimes, after starting it will shoot out a big cloud on smoke and go on down the road. At times it seems to be missing slightly but then it will run just fine for a while. The check engine light stays on and at times it will blink and then go back out. The last time I had OBD check it gave me a P0403 code. I know this can be several different things. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go next? I am limited on how much I can spend at this time. Just looking for some suggestions.

Since it's a code for the EGR system you probably have a cracked EGR pipe which is a common issue. That specific code points to the EGR solenoid so start there first.

Smile EGR solenoid

Thanks for your response. I will give it a try with the EGR Solenoid.
