LS400 mirrors
Hi guys just joined up. Well I've got a 1998 a Lexus LS400 (RHD) and was wondering if the mirrors from the 2000 LS400 can be put on my 1998? I'm wanting the reverse to tilt mirror function on both mirrors.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I'm fairly certain that the reverse tilt-down function is in the mirror ECU and not in the mirror itself. And the glass in the exterior mirrors of a LHD LS400 likely present a different image than those in the RHD LS400 although it might be possible to put the glass from the RHD mirrors into the LHD mirrors.

The question I have is for the destination Country for your right hand drive car, is whether this change occurred for 1999 model year....if so, which case you should be able to swap out the appropriate ECU....

Thanks for the replies. I'm from Australia but is it necessary to have an ecu from an Australian spec car? Couldn't I get one from a US spec car or a JDM celsior or LS400?

for 1998 and 1999 with your Toyota (Lexus) dealer??.
Then post P.N.s and we can verify if same P.N.s States aide.

19998 and 1999 DOOR (and rear view mirror ) ECU P.N.s as provided by Lexus...presented to you upside down as received.
There are 4 distinct P.N.s....
Compare U.S. version 1998 left-hand ECU P.N. with your 1998 right-hand ECU. P.N.
If same P.N., then it stands to reason the 1999 Driver's side(left or right drive side) ECU will share same P.N.
I hope this helps...
So, you still.have homework to determine what is your door ECU P.N.
Kindly share your findings.

Yodaone's upside-down image gave me a headache so here it is flipped.
And here are images from that part number website whose name may not be mentioned on this forum. I can't guarantee that the part numbers are correct but I have found that it usually is. I've used it for at least 10 years to find part numbers for a variety of vehicles made by Toyota.
The two larger images image show USA part numbers on the right side and Australia part numbers on the left side. I essentially put the window for the Australia LS400 diagram and part numbers on top of the one for the USA LS400 and moved the Australia window to the left enough to show the part numbers for both. Sorry, I forgot to put "1999" over the part numbers for that image but I remembered to do it for the 1998.
Those who have access to the part number website shown in the images can check for themselves.
