I'm putting together a video on the Series IV LS 400 for Monday and have a question about these little buttons or circles found on the windows.
The owner's manual I've found online has been helpful so far but it doesn't explain what these are. The owner of this LS didn't know what they did either and since I don't know what the official name is for them I'm having trouble searching for information on them. Thanks in advance!
you must drive a wonderful 1999 LS400, since you dont have any thing to question except the "worry button"
just keep on motoring.......................................!
Ok, but I need to know what they are, I'm writing a script for a video on this car and I need factual information as to what they are, what they're called, and their purpose. It's the only car I can think of that has had these things on them.

They are part of window guide assembly.

Purchased from Eastwood; Self-Etching Primer and Trim.Black. The SEM brand trim black #39143 is more matte than OEM glossy. Works well. Anyone suggest a glossier variant.?
Surface prep; cleaning, multi-grit wet-sanding paper assortment, professiona.masking tape and newspaper essential.
As mentioned, the SEMS black is more matte finish than gloss, but it works well.

correct. they keep the window on track. just open the window and you will see the track the guides slide on! there is a hole in the glass where the guide is bolted to the pane.
there are guides on the other side of the window as well near the side mirror.

yep, I still have my 92 coupe and know these first hand as well! only accord coupes had them, sedans didn't for some reason.

Bumping this thread as I'm currently in the process of trying to remove these rollers from the window and transfer them to a new window pane.
Most of the rollers are straightforward to remove from the looks of it, needing 2 open end wrenches of various sizes
Although, this one roller (with the black painted aluminum cover visible on the outside) does not appear to have any easy way of being removed.
Just curious if anyone knows how this roller is fastened and how to remove it.
Thanks!
EDIT: there is a plastic cover on the backside. Remove it with a small screwdriver and then you can use a torx bit on a ratchet to loosen the screw. Then, the whole assembly comes apart.
the exploded parts diagram above indicates there are screws that hold some, and others that could be press fit?
69961A looks to just be a cover that you pry off is my guess, which exposes the retaining screw?
All of the rollers/stoppers are fastened on with threads except for one rubber guide that is glued. They can all be disassembled with wrenches, torx, and hex tools. The rollers all have plastic covers over the bolt heads
Luckily, none are press fit.
1995-2000 have an additional glued on piece. The glue can be removed by applying heat and prying slowly.
