Lexus 1998 LS400 Gold package features
#6
That's a negative Ghost Rider. My '99 has silver/chrome emblems, with a woodgrain wheel and HID headlights. These features are found on all 98-00 models, regardless of gold trim, silver trim, Coach Edition, etc.
Now, my 99 does NOT have heated seats or factory navigation. So maybe trim colors has something to do with those options??
However I've always felt that the gold vs.silver emblems was likely just a matter of preference.

I do hope no one minds me reviving this thread from the dead. I'm currently having the gold items on my '97 LS refreshed/replaced at a local platers and was interested in the period gold package.
On my car the front and rear badges and emblems were all plated as well as the aerial mast top and nut plus all four hubcap emblems. As far as I'm aware this was an extremely expensive dealer option but I do want to keep the car as original as possible. Most of the badges were worn or tarnished so a couple I've replaced with second hand chrome ones which have gold plated very nicely, others such as the ones on the wheels I've had to get as good as I can but still look 100% better. Then it's just a case of applying a couple of coats of 2K lacquer.
On this picture you can see how faded they were.
Here are some of them back from the platers. I've actually ordered a brand new chrome replacement for the grille emblem because that's the worse out of the lot.
Applying the lacquer
Armed with a hairdryer and a roll of floss I'm hoping to get them on tomorrow.
