Both have their unique qualities. I can't say I necessarily prefer one more than the other - there are even more differences for the LS model between US, EU, and AU variants.

I like to follow both to get the big picture of the history behind the UCF10/11.

Do you know of any other car that had power seatbelt retractors?

The LS 430 (UCF3x Celsior) had them, as well. I'm not aware of any other cars, but I'm sure there are more.

Thanks for sharing Ive actually been collecting 95-97 LS400 brochures (same as my car) as well. Love the original photos and info in them etc. One of them is 50 pages full of photos and writing.

BUMP - since this thread has been getting some attention in the past month as a source reference to the Fax machine option

I want to confirm some facts about the fax machine..
1) It was a Japanese Market option for the Toyota Celsior, made available at Dealers. Not from the factory (this is according to the Celsior brochure)
2) The demo dash with the fax machine on display is at the Toyota Museum in Japan and is shown in a 1993-1994 dash. Japanese Celsiors never got the passenger airbag
3) The fax machine was never an LS 400 option

I found a full online version on Toyota's website a few years back. I posted it once on the forum for another Celsior owner.

If anyone is interested in viewing the full document, here is the link to the brochure.

Another fun fact, the Toyota museum in Japan has an entire exhibit dedicated to the Celsior development. Part of the display includes a sound system demo, a GPS demo, and the instrument cluster demo. The fax machine is also in the glove compartment. Here are a few videos:

Attached are a few of many other photos I've collected [these are not mine]:

- Aerodynamics display (1964 Toyota Corona vs 1989 Toyota Celsior)
- Fax machine close-up:
- Parts display
- Celsior on display (2 Celsiors: One silver, one black jade pearl. 1 LS 400 in black jade pearl)
- Exhibit sign

I'll make it to this museum some day..
