Lexus stereo swap to nav
I have the stock Lexus stereo and the LCD and such doesn’t work so I can’t see the buttons at night so I was just gonna replace it with the nav stereo, 1. Will it fit properly, 2. If it’s not Lexus, let’s say Mark Levinson or that one Asian brand namachi? Ik that’s spelled wrong but whatever. Will it work?

Lots of threads on the subject, for sure you dont want the OEM nav system. Its a clunky outdated monster.
My nephew cobbled together an after market sound system for 200 bucks new with an amp front/rears,an amp for subwoofer, and speakers, for 200 dollars and has some very nice sound.Very clean sound.Tied into his smart phone.
Also ebay has inserts for single and double DIN dash mounts for clean install of whatever you want to put in it.cheap too, like 16 dollars.

Yes I’ve seen them, but isn’t the sound quality not as good as let’s say the pioneer ones you see everywhere, that’s why I’ve kept it stock this whole time. Bc on the stock stereo you can mess with all the types of sound like treble, fader, If I got aftermarket wouldn’t it not be as good and not get access to those features? But also I was unclear I’m buying this because my LCD is out and that parts crazy expensive

You can easily exceed OEM sound. On these cheapo (relatively speaking) amps nephew has he can,for example, digitally adjust the frequency crossover points to his speakers to match them exactly so only the correct sound frequencies can go to say the midrange speakers. The subwoofer only gets whats ideal for that speaker, and no other frequency muddying things up.Makes for a clarity that truly blew my mind.Im sure pro's can explain that a lot better, thats what I THINK I understood as he explained the setting up to me as he set up a demo system to show me whats what.
This new sound stuff is crazy good (20 years matters big time, think cell phones for example),beyond my expertise but I have him who will get me dialed in purchasing, install it,and adjust it properly to match everything to perfection.I wont be using any of the LS400's system to hook it up,maybe some of its speaker wire, but thats it,I wont be matching up harnesses.
I'll bet money you have friends who know all about it.
