Default I remain confused ! intermittent TRAC light on

Greetings All....new to the site, but eager to learn. I recently bought a very nice 1994 LS400. The TRAC light intermittently comes on in the speedometer section. I'm not talking about the TRAC OFF button that can be manually defeated, but rather the light alone. I'm assuming this means the system is non-operational while the light is "on."
I've read so many postings online and the bottom line is that no one seems to have THE answer. I've read everything from accumulators to brake fluid to electrical tape !

With all the brain power here, I'm banking that someone can help.....

You can see if there's any "trac" codes: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html
But usually when the "trac" light comes on intermittently it means you're low on brake fluid.
If you bleed the brakes you need to remember that it's not a simple bleed. You also need to bleed the traction control system. I don't remember off hand the procedure but if you do a search on it there's alot of threads on what order to bleed everything.

Thanks, however the brake fluid level is fine. How odd that NO ONE can tell me how to really fix this dilemma. Sounds like Lexus should have recalled this issue years ago.....

No one can tell you how to fix it b/c it can be 100 different problems. You need to pull the codes with the link I posted for you, tell us, and then we can have an idea what it could be. I can give you a couple more guesses but it would be a hell of alot easier with the codes. It could be a bad speed sensor telling the ECU that your tires are spinning. Even though the fluid level is good, it might need to be bled.

You shouldn't go blaming Lexus for a simple wear and tear maintenance. Recalls are made for something that can cause series injury or death.

I appreciate your candor. I'll get the code error and report back. I didn't realize there could be so many varying reasons for the light to come on.
