Good choise
The LS400 is a absolute gem. Best cars I have owned since I bougth my first car in the seventies.
I use a LS400 as a daily driver for the last 4 years unless weather is really bad. I want it to last.
Life is too short to drive anything else.
When you do the TB/WP I would recommend that you use the OEM brands AISIN, Mitsuboshi etc.
Cost very little extra. ALSO it is smart to check the bearings on all the rotating stuff on motor front
I ended up changing some idler bearing and tensioner bearing that sounded really "dry".
About 10$ each to buy those based on bearing numbers. Google it. Easy to press in and out those with a simple vice.
When I fixed some rubber bushings in front end I bought them loose and pressed them in with a home made press
made from a cheap hydraulic jack , some wood and threaded rod.
