P225/60R16 97V vs P235/60R16 97V TIRES
A majority of forum tire/rim postings feature larger rims/lower profile sidewall tires...
While this looks better, ride suffers and NVH increases, so I went in the opposite direction...
An opportunity to acquire a set of 16" LS430 rims with. P235/60R16 tires in excellent condition, came up so I went for it
The ride is perceptively improved and the front end bumper/engine undercover now has adequate clearance for concrete parking lot wheel stops with
P235/60R16 vs stock P225/60R16
A comparison of differences;
1.) tires diameter
2.) Circumference
3.) Sidewall profile
4) Width
5) MPH/KPH
6.) Revolutions/mile/kilometer.

All my cars have the largest tire that will fit the rim and not rub.LS400 will get the same when tires due.Though I will have to do homework for the Lexus. Not aware if its an issue or not.

How tall can the sidewalls be? An accurate speedometer isn't my priority, ride quality is paramount. While some say a car won't handle as well. But this is mainly for extreme track racing. Maybe if at the same time as getting a higher sidewall you upgrade to a high end performance tire, handling can actually improve at the same time as ride quality? Your ideas of tire clearance are appreciated.

The engine produces more power than stock tires can handle with an open differential so the extra width is a plus.
The 1/2" lncreased diameter improves ride...consider difference in ride between 15" and 16" rims... .and the extra sidewall contributes to this improvement.
I think the larger tire weighs more: one - two pounds?
It seems to respond well to 36-40 PSI....
Slightly heavier steering maneuvering while parking...so the idle-up valve helps. (those of you who temoved yours take note before considering a larger tire)
MPG is fractionally impoved at steady 70 MPH highway...

as it turns out, finding P225/60R-16 97V tires are quite difficult these days. i'm pretty sure i could only find the goodyear eagle rs-a (which i don't think is too great) in that size and speed rating. michelin doesn't make the MXV4 in that size anymore, and even the michelin premier a/s is 98H not 97V. michelin makes the MXV4 in P215 and P235 but skips right over P225! i like the premiers but they're really quite soft with a lot of sidewall flex. really not meant for precise handling i don't think but then again neither really is the LS lol...
