Default Rear rotor thickness- change?

Standard is spec'd at 16mm/.630".
Minimal is 15mm/.591".

Mine are at 15.65mm/.615". Would you change the rotor at this brake service interval?

Wouldn't. still within spec. should last a while considering rear braking only account to roughly 25% of stopping. unless your pads gets worn enough that itll eat the rotor and/or rotor is warped

Are you planning to resurface them as part of the brake job. Some people over look this step on the rears if they are still fairly smooth. If they are still smooth they should be fine but if you resurface it may take them down below 15mm.

The rotors still have the last cross hatch pass from the previous brake service. Still smooth.

Yours still have some life left so don't junk them unless they're warped. Put on a new set of pads & if it brakes smooth without any pulsations then you won't even need to turn them.

Youve only used 35% of spec value.I'd reuse and agree,if they arent warped like lexsmooth pointed out.

This time ordered some Centric Posi-Quiet's to try. Put those on the Corolla and they have a much nicer feel than the factory pads. They dust far less as well. If these don't work as expected the factory pads will go on. In similar thought, the Toyota pads are gentle on the rotors so they strike a middle ground for decent stopping and low parts wear. At a few ticks over 200K, these are the original rotors from '97. No complaints from me on brake parts longevity.

I have Centric Posi-Quiet's ceramic on my newer Benz CL550 & they're excellent w/ very little dust. Rims still look clean even after a few hundred miles between washes.

I had to replace mine. I took it to Orielly Auto and they said they're not servicable due to being so thin.

I bought some Napa Premium ones that are pretty high quality though.

Great! That helps me feel confident in the pad switch for the LS.

I've got Wagner Thermoquiets front and rear on mine. My company I work for, Federal Mogul Motorparts, makes them in their plant in Smithville, TN. They're a good quality pad.

The rears I removed with 45-50k miles on them and they still had about 50% life left. I only replaced because I was doing rear rotors, so I always replace pads regardless.

Great! Will add those to the wish list for options on pads.

Very good point, agree 100%. Classic car owners do just that.
