Default Cheap catalytic converters for sale ??

I’ve had CAT issues for a few months now and I would just pour cataclean in just so the dash light would go away but that doesn’t seem to work anymore, would anyone be willing to sell me there cats if ur car isn’t in use or wrecked etc, the Lexus dealership scanned it and said it’s the one on the back right of the car, ( I think he said there’s 3) I may be wrong. But I for sure know he said it’s the one on the right, thanks.

Also after searching prices I notice there only 200-400 but why is the repair estimates in the thousands? Just to take this little part off the car? Am I missing something ?

Have the bank 2 O2 sensors been changed? If those are the originals/over 150K on them they are likely due and may be the cause of a cat efficiency error code. Cat's in most instances don't go bad unless the car has been running rich for a good spell due to a dead ECT sensor and bank 1 O2 sensors reading wrong. Bank 2 Denso sensors cost ~$65/each. If the bank 1 sensors haven't been changed, may as well do those too. Still cheaper than cats and those sensors are important so that a misreading sensor doesn't cause the ECU to run rich again ruining the new cats.

I don’t think they have been changed, my dad bought this in 2010 and the original owner did literally maintenance every time he could, no record of a change, we got it at 200K and I’m at 330K now, I’ll check that out thanks

Toyota interval is 100K for the O2 sensors, that would be a safe move to evaluate before replacing the cats. Any other running symptoms present? Misfire, poor MPG...?

Idk what a misfire feels like or looks like but the car runs fine, all things considered, and I get about 19.6 averaged, but when I’m driving the calculator will jump from 15.7 MPG to 99.9MPG then to 66.5MPG etc, so maybe something with that? I’m not sure what controls that but it does go all over the place, I ordered the 02 sensors but am struggling to figure out where they are on the car. So I can figure this out before they get here

That's not your averaged MPG, that's your instant mpgs that fluctuate whenever you step on/off the gas or at idle. You have to click through the multi function display to get to tank average.
