Rebuilding Brake Booster and Master CYlinder
My Brake Booster went bad and I opted for rebuilding for $140 here in Cali and I am searching for options to rebuild my LS400 master cylinder. My LS400 is 225k and I am not sure should I rebuild both or buying a used (125k miles) from a salvage yard for under $60 bucks
Also I can't find any place that rebuilds lexus master cylinders. Does buying aftermarket like cardone would function as good as OEM for a MC? I have read horror stories that they are not as good as OEM in function and sometime the feel is not at the sweet spot.
OEM is like $800 so I need to pick used or aftermarket for BB+MC..

What I read is ls400 Mc rebuilt are hard as they are case hardened and tough to machine during rebuild. Scott Kilmer from YouTube either don't have an good opinion on rebuilts. That's the reason I'm leaning on used or aftermarket . My MC is 220k old and it's not leaking or anything but my BB diaphragm is diagnosed to be broken causing stiff braking pedal. Too hard to push .

Imo, go for rebuilt instead of used one as you don't really know the real mileage & the condition of it so you could end up w/ another leaky one. I've replaced mine w/ a rebuilt Cardone & has no problem whatsoever even after 4 years. Just make sure to read the instructions & prime the MC then bleed it to get all the bubbles out then you'll be fine.

rebuilt cardone master or brake booster? There like 30 bucks apart each. New vs rebuilt cardone MC
