Just wanted to touch base and convey my appreciation for this site, the members, and all the great information found here. I have loved Toyota cars since before I could drive and have longed for a Lexus for many years now. I recently purchased a 1998 LS400 and would not, could not, have done so without everyone’s efforts in this forum. Hope I can be of some use in the future. Will post pix soon. Thanks and be well.

Good service history, timing belt done, 131K miles, newer valve cover gaskets, and A/C compressor. Drove fine on the 430 mile trip home. Needs a good detailing, but it has been taken good care of.

Draining transmission fluid as I type this post. Type T-IV arrived today via UPS. This thing will move!. Haven't had a V8 in several years. Love the build quality. I never overly liked the 5 spoke look, but they are all really nice and wrapped in Michelin tires.

Beautiful car! I hope to get one some day - the love affair started in the 90's when I first rode in an ES (1997, I think) and could believe it. My aunt always had Camrys and I loved them even as far back as 1992. I have always come so close, but never had one. At this point, it would be treated as a classic - fair weather driven, stored winters, open wallet maintenance etc. Your story inspired me

I have two 1st gen RAV4s, a 1998 with 330K on it, and 1999 with just 40K on it. We also have a 02 Solara, silver w/black leather. All 3 are fantastic, reliable vehicles. You just cannot beat the older Toyota models for reliability (70s,80s, 90s, and early 2000 models). In 1983, my great uncle left my dad an early 70s model red 2-door Corolla wagon (still had the clear plastic covering on the passenger and back seats). I absolutely fell in love with it and even got to drive it to school my senior year. I learned to drive a stick in that car. This Lexus is my 55th car in 37 years of driving. I've owned a wide range of cars and trucks from many different manufacturers and I must say, this LS400 is impressive. I have researched this model for years and the information and views here really helped me to feel comfortable about purchasing one. I spent a week looking through 8 years of posts and found so much good info.
Acarapella, the perfect LS400 is heading your way!
