family stuck thier noses up at my car lol. my grandfather was a big time car dealer up north back in the 1960s-70s. my aunt sees my car and first thing she says "poppy never would have approved. he always said never buy a green or brown car bc resale value is bad and nobody wants them) -yes, she color shamed my car. she also said it was too old, dated, and went on about the whole "glorified Camry" thing. said it stunk like old people and later that night she grabbed my keys while i was sleeping, went over to it and stuffed the car with dryer sheets to get rid of "the stench" woke up the next morning saw all the drier sheets and was like "wtf!" it was absolutely overpowering with the scent of downy. kinda pissed me off. im sure we all know "the smell" these cars have. the old Lexus Japanese leather smell. i actually like it. hope it comes back. also said i was crazy for buying such an old car that she is totally convinced will break down on me and cost a fortune to fix, and that i should be driving something more practical... -says the woman with a Range Rover Autobiography which will fall apart in a few years from now and depreciate like a rock lol. whatever. i dont have $150k to blow on a new car plus ill never lower myself to a Hyundai sonata.

And when a car is 18 years old, are we really worried about future depreciation?
Ignore the haters, enjoy your car.

Sounds like you need to sit your aunt down and set out a few facts! Once you've explained that it's none of her damn business, perhaps point out the million-mile Lexus (of which there are more than one, by the way).
I sympathize. Glad I'm not the only one with a family like this!

looks nice a nice trip! the LS is the best car for it, and i really love the green! certainly a unique and not so ubiquitous color. i'll always think of this when i see a green car though:
glad everything's going well with the car, how does the extra power feel on the open road?

haha yea he told deniro he decided to "go for the full size" right before that
wow ford somehow managed to make that taurus in the movie as big as the period S class, either way it's definitely full size now. looks ridiculous with those tiny back windows in something so big but what're you gonna do... has fun engine options though

An opportunity to enlighten loved ones and the unconverted! When the age thing comes up in my conversations I speak of thee "Million mile Lexus," 1uzfe legendary engine. Robotized clean room Tahara build plant. Seawall at factory lot built to keep off the ocean seaspray......etc. etc. etc.
Then further delighting them with other positive tidbits as they fall asleep, their dreams convincing them of my positive argument. Net result, Their personal bliss and LS enlightenment. Kidding.
The close to 80 yo lady I purchased mine from said people still commented on the new car smell. My brother in law who owns a 2016 ES 350 rides in the backseat of my LS in relaxed silence (not like him). Even if "they" are unconvinced, I feel I've found the end of the automobile rainbow and snatched a pot o' gold.
