Default Intake/ Sound in intake area questions

I have a 1994 Lexus LS400 that I bought about a month ago. When I知 accelerating around 10-40 mph I hear what sounds like quick puffing from the intake area of my engine. It is more pronounced when I知 driving from a cold start. Not sure if it is intake but that is the general area of the sound. It only does it at those speeds and only when the car is in motion. After 40mph it seems to fade away. It dosent seem to be an issue but it irritates me that I can稚 find out what it is or where it comes from or if it痴 even normal. I thought maybe it is the intake struggling to take in air but I知 not sure. Anyone have any idea what it is?

Is there a dash light-error code? Check the hoses around the EGR. This may be a faulty vacuum modulator.

it does sound like the EGR, which is common for the recirculation pipe to rupture overtime.
this is located near the center of the engine at the back towards the firewall so I can see you thinking it's the intake.
it sounds like a small exhaust leak...put put put put as the engine speeds up.

Will also have some exhaust smell to it, depending on the severity of the pipe break.
