so my cd loads but never plays. ERR 22
1996 LS 400 NAK system

The cd's go into the cassette tray label-printed side down.

Yep checked that first because I have done that before LOL was playing just fine then just went to ERR 22
then tried 2 other cartridges ( I keep 6 of them that is my version of a 'playlist') ha

any other thoughts ? thx for quick reply

tried several combinations to make sure i eliminated CD, cartridges, etc. may have to remove unit but cannot find instructions

Removal of the CD changer is pretty easy, the whole unit and decorative bezel comes out as one assembly. Remove the glove box and the mounting brackets for the changer can be seen-removed. This came out when the ECU caps are replaced to gain access to the ECU top mounting brackets/nuts. I scanned the ECU thread for pictures but didn't see any.
