LS for $650!
#2
My collection so far:
1991: $400, no title, serious cosmetic issues and missing parts, serious electrical issues, bad/partial ECU re-cap, cooked PS, bad front LH hub.
1994: $600, cosmetic issues, motor sluggish under load, ECU replaced but not re-capped, PS valve needs delete.
1995: $500, no motor, trans, ECU; listed as 1994 and bought by mistake; parting out.
I've become kinda obsessed with 1st generation LS400s. I'm looking at buying another salvage vehicle for parts and possible another to restore.

That awesome! I guess these are old enough you can start getting them for pennies. I've heard changing the starter is a really terrible job? Because it sits in the V between the cylinders?

I had a 95 a few years back that I sold and missed it dearly.
I always cruise craigslist for a replacement and found one I picked up recently. Paid $800 for it. 96 with 162k. Had a high warm idle and needed some cleaning up. I fixed the idle by adjusting the TPS. Oem Nakamichi screen isn’t legible but still works and Sounds great, climate control display same story. But car drives amazing and looks good at 10ft.

that is true... however by being inside the V, it's less likely to come into contact with something that might damage it.

Also, JesseNelso, next time you get the tires rotated on your 1991, have the right and left wheels put on the correct sides
