Hello everyone,
I recently bought some 17" LS430 wheels. I was thinking of running a slightly wider tire on the rear wheels (245/50/17) while keeping the front tires the stock size (225/55/17). Has anyone done this? Will it look out of place if I run this set up?

Know you aren’t asking if it’s a good idea, but I wouldn’t personally do it.
You aren’t going to see to see any performance benefit and will lose ability to rotate other than side to side. Won’t look much different either.

The reason I want to run wider tires in the back is because the rear wheels tuck in further compared to the front wheels. Running slightly wider tires will help reduce the difference between the front and rear wheels. I am not a fan of wheel spacers and want to avoid using them.

Understand, but I don't think .79 of an inch is going to do much to resolve the aesthetics issue. You really need aftermarket wheels with a different width if you want to solve w/o spacers. IMO keep the functionality of a square setup until you put non-OEM wheels on, but your car your choice!

dave is right, the difference look out back will not be that big so I also recommend running non-staggard tires.
in the end it's your car and you can chose whatever you want.
why not run spacers if the gap is the only thing concerning? spacers have come a long way from the slip on versions of old.

i know this is the boring answer but i still say just leave it alone, or do what i did and convince yourself that stock looks better lol
a 10 or 15 mm spacer won't be the end of the world but it's still putting a bit of extra strain on the wheel bearing, and and minor tire imbalances are amplified with a spacer. i went through the exact same "i need everything to be just right" phase so i really can't be too critical haha

As someone who has done both, on different cars, I would strongly lean toward hub-centric spacers over the inconvenience of a staggered setup.
