Putting that in bold red letters, maybe people will stop thinking it's engine speed. You've said it 5 times. Although, the title does say "from the right"
Did you ever change the driveshaft center support? Over the years I've read about a few going bad. Plus, mine was bad on my 93 which I never got around to changing b/c the car wasn't worth it with all the other problems it had. Mine had a shake, that's how I knew it was bad. I also had a whine coming from underneath but never diagnosed it so it could have been the support.

Yea old title lol it sounded from the right, yea replaced that and the ujoints. Noise didn't go away but did eliminate minor vibrations.

Since you've recently changed the belt tensioner idler pulley w/ an OEM & you've checked it so it s/b fine. The leaking fluid from the pump will sure cause damage to the alternator & it could makes a grinding or whining noise as well so replacing both of them is the right thing to do. The alternator is also belt driven so you can do the same test by spinning its pulley once the serpentine belt is removed. You're getting very close there. I bet it's either the pump or the alternator is the culprit of where the noise is coming from. Good luck.

Correct the parts pump made a horrible noise like that and leaked over the alternator.

I hope it's something simple and not tranny given it only occurs in motion at 1500rpm while in gear. 1st and 2nd only

I've had replaced the ps pump in my 97 LS400 a few times w/ re-manufactured ones & they don't last so make sure you go w/ an OEM pump. It costs more but you can sleep better at night. The alternator is much more giving so if money is tight then go w/ a name branded aftermarket one. Some of the local auto part stores carry lifetime warranty on the alternator.

It's oem.... But doubtful it's the source of the noise

So the new transmission is installed but the whining noise in 1st and 2nd gear is still there as well as the noise at 45 and above

Used valve body from the old tranny is when the one that came with the new one was exhibiting a loud sucking noise. Other than the sucking noise the whining noise was not there. Anyone have any idea how to dianose the valve body?
