Default My 2000 Lexus ls400 won't start.

It turns over but won't fire up and start. It has been running but all of a sudden died after starting when I started it one afternoon. After it sat for about 3 days, it started two to three times but I was afraid to drive it. On the day I was going to drive it down the street, it started but then died. It went back to not starting. I will go out tomorrow and try again but I don't know where I might start to look for the problem. I'm not real mechanically inclined but if I just had a place to start. It costs an arm and leg just to have someone look at it. Thank you for any help!!!

Thank you Billy, I guess I will have to do that. I didn't realize what kind of website this was. I just googled my question and this site came up. I guess I'm kind of from a time before all the computer code information when you could tell somebody what was going on and they could give you some sort of idea of where to start. My car has 334,000 miles and I just need it to run for a few more months. I have put a bit of money into it the past couple of months. Thank you for your help. I'll be back when I get some codes. Thank you

Exactly , there are a lot of knowledgable folks here but being a computer car they need some more info to give you good advice vrs generic that can cause you wasted time and money with an off the cuff answer.

Go to your local Auto zone and they will pull the codes for free.
