A 98 doesn't have any ACV or something similar. The idle RPM is fully controlled by the throttle valve and the ECU targeting 750RPM. But when one of these or some injectors are not in good condition, the idle speed can't be controlled well as well as the AT shift from 1st to 2nd gear is not done well.

Search the Forum and you'd find many people have asked the same questions. Many of them became happy and also they were a bit amazed how the AT works well after cleaning the throttle body and the air mix passages thoroughly.

I had already cleaned the throttle body before, maybe about 2 months ago and not much changed, so i was wondering if it ended up being a problem somewhere along the vacuum tubes or valves, ill clean it again and will change out the vacuum tubes aswell, any chance you know the inside size of the tubes?

I'm sorry I can't tell you the size but get fuel lines. At least at Advance, their vacuum hoses are super weak. I used them once, went back for fuel lines. Cut off a small piece of a vacuum line and compare the hole. The fuel line will be thicker obviously. The good thing - I think they're all the same size.

Edit: They are on a 96.
